The key to cooking a perfect steak is searing it well and not let the meat boil in its juices, according to chef Gordon Ramsay. In this video, he demonstrates his technique for cooking steak.
First, he suggests taking the meat out of the fridge 20 minutes before cooking and let the hot frying pan do the rest. He adds a bit of olive oil to the pan and later on adds some butter so the steaks don’t burn. He seasons the steaks with salt and pepper before adding them to a pan and later adds a bit of crushed garlic while they are cooking for extra flavor. He also mentions he turns the steaks every minute so that they cook evenly.
The cooked steaks look delicious! I’m certainly going to give this technique a try.
There sure are a lot of different tips for cooking the perfect steak. Here’s another video tip on cooking frozen steaks and this one on cooking steak with a reverse sear!
