Wildlife photographer Barrett Hedges filmed this adorable footage of a river otter enjoying the snow at Yellowstone National Park. The photographer was watching a family of river otters on the Yellowstone River when an otter pup started running and sliding on the ice.
The pup continued to slide on the ice repeatedly for over an hour, and Hedges was lucky enough to capture the fun on video.
And as this clip from National Geographic shows, river otters are in their element in Yellowstone in winter and love to slide in the snow.
And as the the videographer of the video below reveals, “River otters turn the ice and snow of the Yellowstone winter conditions into a playground – as long as they have enough fish in their clutches, they are perfectly engineered to survive in these harsh conditions.”
