This fascinating clip of sharks feeding deep down in the ocean is intense! From BBC’s upcoming nature documentary series, Blue Planet II, the scientists and filmmakers encounter several aggressive bluntnose sixgill sharks (cow sharks) feeding on a whale carcass over 700 meters (2300 feet) down.
“The Blue Planet II team dive to over 700 meters to see what happens to a whale carcass on the seabed,” the video’s description reads. “Whilst filming sharks as they feast, the sharks start to take a worrying interest in the submarine!”
The sharks think the submarine is competing for the food which leads to this interesting encounter.
Share this unique nature moment with your friends and family.
Blue Planet I is an amazing series and is currently available on DVD. Blue Planet II will air in 2018 in the United States.
