Jennifer Kunz has always dreamed of being surrounded by horses, and at Duchess Sanctuary she has realized that dream. Jennifer tends to the 200 rescued horses who live on the 1,120-acre facility near Oakland, Oregon and knows each of them by name.
It was established in 2008 as an oasis for about 200 formerly abused, abandoned, neglected, and homeless horses and is operated by The Fund for Animals in partnership with The Humane Society of The United States.
Many of the horses at the sanctuary come from the Pregnant Mare Urine (PMU) industry. As Jennifer tours the beautiful haven in the video below, you’ll see the horses roaming freely through the fields.
Share what this wonderful sanctuary does with your family and friends.
