Cole is a very special dog. For the past seven years, this deaf therapy dog has worked at a local school, making countless friends who love and appreciate him. So, when his eighth birthday came around, the school kids decided to throw him an extra-special celebration.
This year, Cole got to ride in a special carriage and wear a colorful outfit. He was brought into the school auditorium, where the entire school was waiting to surprise him. The students had even learned to sign “Happy Birthday” in American Sign Language, signing along as they sang to him. Cole soaked up all the love and attention.

His dad, Chris Hannah, told The Dodo: “He was so ornery all day, extra playful, acting super silly, which was definitely because he knew it was his birthday celebration day. He’s usually extra chill while working, but who couldn’t love some silliness? He looked around from all angles to see the students signing to him with the utmost attention on their hands.”
To top off the celebration, Cole enjoyed a delicious mini burger, much to the delight of the entire school. As soon as he finished, the students erupted in cheers. Afterwards, a happily exhausted Cole took a nap in his wagon, basking in all the love he’d received.
Cole is a beloved part of the school’s community and also participates in the school concerts. Despite the spotlight, he always stays calm, collected, and chill. How chill? Check him out at a recent Christmas school concert.

He’s even chill when he has a wardrobe malfunction.
