You’re never too old to find love or find love again! Dana Jackson married her first husband at age 15 and to celebrate her 100th birthday, she would walk down the aisle again!
Dana met Bill Stauss, 87, at the Rosewood Health Care Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Both thought they would never get married again, but after meeting each other they both knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.
“I found one that’s just as nice as can be,” he told AARP. “Treats me good. It’s rare to find a girl like that.”
For the ceremony, the 100-year-old bride wore a traditional white gown and the groom wore a fancy tuxedo. Although she had been married before, this was the first time Dana has had a formal wedding. She said that when she was young, getting married was “no big thing”. “You didn’t do the things you do now,” she said. “It was simple clothes and maybe a bouquet cut out of the yard. And that’s just the way it was.”
While neither of the newlyweds ever dreamed that they would get married again, it just goes to show you that you are never too old to follow your heart!
Watch as the two walk down the aisle together and celebrate their union!
