Nature lovers in Japan are flocking to an aquarium and nature center to view a rare and unusual flower.
The rare Monkey Orchid (officially name – Dracula Simia) is native to Central and South America (it’s indigenous to Columbia and Ecuador) and is called “monkey” because its furry appearance and because its shape resembles the face of a monkey.

The flowers are extremely difficult to grow, which is why they are rarely seen on display. The Fukushima Aquarium in Iwaki, Japan is displaying the orchids in honor of this year’s Chinese lunar calendar, which in 2016, will be the Year of the Monkey.
