The U.S. Postal Service is providing a preview of its 2016 stamp program, which includes a series that every pet parent will love. Entitled “Pets Forever”, the campaign will feature 20 animals that people love and keep as pets.
The animals will be will be featured on an upcoming set of first-class Forever stamps issued sometime this year. Included in the collection are adorable portraits of a tan and white puppy, a Golden Retriever, kitten, cat, horse and other pets like rabbit, chinchilla, gerbil, guinea pig and hamster.
The U.S. Postal Services hasn’t announced when they plan on releasing the stamps, but it might be in May to coincide with National Pet Month.
The upcoming animal stamps will feature pets photographed against white backgrounds by photographer Eric Isselée. The Belgian photographer is a renowned animal photographer having taken pictures of over 450 animal species.
Not all the stamps will feature furry animals either. There are stamps of other more unusual pets like a hermit crab, iguana, tortoise, corn snake, and gecko.
Past stamps featuring pets have included the Adopt a Shelter Pet series in 2009, which were promoted by Ellen DeGeneres.
Another recent series, highlighted working dogs. The Dogs at Work series was printed in 2012 and included seeing-eye dog, a tracking dog, a therapy dog, and a search and rescue dog.
The postal service said that stamps featuring animals always sell well for them. Personally, I love stamps with animals, they’re always my favorites.
