One of the most beloved Disney films in of all time has to be Beauty and the Beast. The movie was so well received that it was nominated for “Best Feature” at the Academy Awards, something that rarely is bestowed on an animated film. It went on to become a broadway hit and a live action version is soon to be released.
Equally well-loved is Angela Lansbury. She voiced the character Mrs. Potts and sang the “Tale As Old As Time” in the film. The veteran performer of stage and screen is now 90 years old, but she still loves entertaining audiences, as the video below reveals.
Following the 25th Anniversary screening of the modern Disney classic at Lincoln Center in New York City on September 18, 2016, Lansbury stepped on stage to perform the title song accompanied by the song’s composer, Alan Menken, on piano. By the end of her performance, she has a huge smile on her face and the audience jumped to their feet to give her a well-deserved standing ovation.
What an amazing treat! Share her performance with your friends if you agree!
And the video below is the same performance but recorded by another lucky audience member.
