A pair of stray dogs found on the streets of Arizona as strays got a chance at a second life after photos of the bonded pair went viral. Bonnie and Clyde were picked up by Maricopa County Animal Care & Control (MCACC) and were immediately identified as a bonded pair.
The two pals were given a kennel to share and that’s when Clyde (the smaller of the two), revealed an adorable routine that caught the shelter staff by surprise.
Clyde would climb on Bonnie’s back to survey his surroundings and get a view out the kennel window.
It wasn’t a one time thing, either.
“Initially we thought it was a fluke, but it started happening a lot,” MCACC’s public information officer, Jose Santiago, told The Dodo. “Now it is unusual to not see them that way. They are as bonded as you can imagine.”
The two also like to curl up and spoon with each other when sleeping.
It’s no surprise that shortly after their pictures went viral, the shelter updated their post “Adopted Together”.
The loving duo are joining a family of five, with whom to bond in a whole new way.
Share Bonnie and Clyde’s happy ending, and please support your local animal shelter, where there are many Bonnie and Clydes waiting for their forever homes.
