A caller reached out to Oklahoma’s Enid Police Department to report what they thought was someone screaming at the top of their lungs for help. But police discovered it was really a mistaken species identity.
Officer David Sneed and Officer Neal Storey responded to the report and arrived at the farm with their body cameras rolling.
“Upon arriving, the officers began walking toward the faint sound of someone yelling. As they got closer, Officer Sneed could hear a distinct yell for ‘help,'” the Enid Police Department posted on Facebook alongside bodycam footage of the incident.
“I think it’s a person,” Officer Sneed says in footage from the incident. “That’s a person.” So the two officers ran up to a barn only to find the distressed individual had four legs! “It’s a goat,” both officers said after seeing the farm animal.
It turns out the goat wasn’t distressed either, just annoyed. Officers were told by the person looking after the goats, “He’s a little upset because I separated him from his friends” after he was locked out of his pen so the other two could have some alone time.
The three share a big laugh over the case of mistaken identity. But it must be a relief that no one was in danger.
