A British wildlife artist captured a rare moment on hidden surveillance cameras when he captured a baby barn owl reacting to thunder.
Robert Fuller wrote on YouTube:
This barn owl chick has never heard thunder before. At just two and a half months old the young owl is only just learning about the world when a deafening thunderstorm passes overhead.
“Watch its alarm as the sky is ripped apart by a roar of thunder and accompanying flash of lightening.”
According to Fuller, the owl chick just took its first flight two weeks earlier and was still using the nest where he had hidden the camera.
Fuller, who lives in Thixendale, North Yorkshire, films owl behavior to observe them for his wildlife paintings.
