These little orphaned baby bats were rescued by the Australian Bat Clinic, after an extreme heat event separated them from their mothers. Traumatized after losing their mothers, the baby flying foxes need to feel safe and nurtured in order to survive.
It’s a good thing they are so well looked after by their rescuers, who swaddle them in blankets, give them pacifiers and lots of affection at their temporary home. Bats are an essential part of our ecosystem, so when these bats grow up they will be reintroduced into the wild. Who would have thought bats could be so sweet?
