Every night at 8pm, Hank the English Bulldog is sure to be in one place – his “cheese corner.” His quirky routine has dog lovers laughing. The bulldog walks over to a corner, faces the wall, and waits.
Hank’s mom, Lizzy Lambertson, shared the details on TikTok, explaining, “Every night around 8pm Hank goes to this corner and sits facing the wall. He doesn’t have to potty, he doesn’t want to go outside, he wants cheese.”

She continued, “It’s his cheese corner and he won’t respond to you until you say “is it cheese time?” Then he walks to the fridge.” Yes, the bulldog wants him mom to pay “the cheese tax” and he always receives his payment. Lizzy wrote, “And he absolutely gets cheese, he prefers Swiss.”

Lizzy refers to Hank’s ritual as his “cheese hour” and told Newsweek that he has been a “cheese connoisseur” ever since she adopted him. Hank was abandoned in Los Angeles before being rescued and fostered. Lizzy adopted him nearly three years ago and says he’s been her best friend ever since. “I’ve honestly never met a more friendly and social dog, he lives for attention. It’s almost like walking down the street with a celebrity because he gets approached so often,” she said.
She’s not sure exactly when Hank associated staring at the wall with getting cheese, but she thinks it started when she gave him a little piece after walks. Eventually, Hank learned to fake wanting to go outside—he’d step out, refuse to come back in, and wait for Lizzy to say “cheese.” His routine evolved from there. One viewer caught onto Hank’s antics, commenting, “It’s funny how quickly a bulldog can train their owner.”
