A couple who fostered and then adopted a dog named Zoey received an incredible surprise when they got her DNA test results back. When Zoey’s parents first found her at the shelter, they were struck by how much she resembled their other dog, Jazz. The shelter was in urgent need of a foster, so they agreed to bring Zoey home. At first, Zoey was so scared she wouldn’t leave her kennel, but she showed curiosity about Jazz.
A week and a half later, the dogs were introduced, and it was love at first sight. After that, Zoey opened up and quickly settled into her new home, and within two months, she had become the sweetest, most relaxed dog. But the most amazing part of their story came two months later when they gave Zoey a DNA test.
They learned that Zoey and Jazz are biological sisters!
The couple shared their story on Instagram (@jazzandzoeythehuskymalinois), writing, “We found them 2.5 years apart and at two separate shelters over 30 miles away from each other. They were always meant to be together.”
