How To Make An Emergency Stove Out Of A Soda Pop Can

Who would have thought a tiny make-shift stove could be made from soda cans? In this DIY video, a man demonstrates how to make a portable stove that would come in handy in emergency situations. In addition to soda cans, he uses fiberglass (the kind used for automotive or boat repair) and HEET as the fuel source.

Although HEET is a cheap fuel option it should be used with caution as it gives off methanol fumes which can be toxic and is best used only outdoors. Another fuel solution would be to use ethanol above 190 proof. It burns cleanly, and less fuel is needed to produce the same amount of heat.

Here’s a different video of the same technique.
