Nico is a deaf Dogo Argentino who was labeled dangerous, believed to be used in dog fighting and, had lost all hope after living at an animal shelter.
Kelly Gibson of Puggles and Pitties who rescued Nico from the shelter planned to take him to a vet to be euthanized, but then something incredible happened…
Here is Nico, before and after he found humans who cared about him and made him feel like a member of their family.
Nico’s photo of him despondent in the shelter was taken by Nikki Audet, a volunteer with Mutt Scouts. This photo would change his life. Nico came to the attention of Puggles and Pitties, who took a chance on the dog even though the shelter had said he was dangerous.
As the video above reveals, Nico was adopted by Bridget Swan. Without her, and the help of the many loving people who rescued him, Nico’s story would have had a very different ending.
This happy-ending story should inspire you to continue to get involved with your local animal shelters and rescues, because it was only after people read and shared Nico’s story that his life was saved.
