Loyal Dog Waiting At 7-Eleven For Her Owner Finds A Home With Thai Princess

A stray dog who had been living outside a 7-Eleven in Thailand after her owner tragically passed away is now finding a new beginning, delighting everyone who had been caring for her.

Moo Dang and her elderly, homeless owner used to go on walks every day and stop at a 7-Eleven near the home of photographer Mari-Mo.

Mari-Mo met them once and noted how sweet the dog was. But one day, she saw Moo Dang sitting outside the convenience store alone. Next to her was a yellow sign listing foods she could and could not eat.

Curious about what had happened, she learned from the store’s owner that Moo Dang’s owner had fallen ill and been hospitalized. While he was away, the store owner began caring for Moo Dang. But then came the heartbreaking news—the man had passed away.

Moo Dang continued to loyally wait in front of the 7-Eleven for him to return. Although several locals tried to take her in and give her a home, she would always return to the store.

“The staff at the store takes good care of her,” Mari-Mo told The Dodo. “The [store] owner even took her to the vet and paid for everything.”

As word spread about Moo Dang, she began receiving visits from students at a nearby school and from people who had seen her story on social media. Then her story went viral and was covered by local news. Adoption offers poured in, but one stood out to the 7-Eleven staff—it came from Princess Siribha Chudabhorn, a member of Thailand’s royal family.

When the princess learned about Moo Dang, she reached out to the store owner and others involved in the dog’s care, asking if she could adopt her and bring her to live at her palace. She promised to take excellent care of Moo Dang, make her as happy as possible, and send updates on her well-being.

And so, Moo Dang will go from being a stray to the beloved pet of a princess.

While the store staff and locals will miss her, they know she will be well cared for. She has already been taken to the princess’s veterinarian at Kasetsart University Veterinary Hospital at Thippaiman for a thorough check-up.

Vets discovered that Moo Dang has blood parasites and pancreatitis, so she is now on a healthy diet and receiving treatment. Once she fully recovers, she will go to live with the princess, and that will be very soon.

Moo Dang’s journey from a devoted companion to a cherished royal pet is nothing short of extraordinary. Though she spent months waiting for her owner to return, she has now found a new family that will love and care for her. Her story is a testament to kindness, resilience, and the unexpected ways life can change for the better.
