Back in December 1968 Elvis Presley took to the airwaves with a television special that was something new for him and his fans.
Called the ’68 Comeback Special, it had some huge set pieces, mini autobiographical movies and some intimate performances with Elvis informally jamming in front of a small audience. Filmed “in the round” with a small group of fans surrounding him, the special is regarded as a forerunner of the “unplugged” concept later made popular by MTV.
One of the songs he sang was “Blue Christmas” and here it is to enjoy.
