Would you be brave enough to cross this Japanese bridge? The Eshima Ohashi bridge in Japan is the third largest rigid frame of its kind in the world and has an incredibly steep gradient so that ships can pass underneath. It’s incredible slope has a gradient of 6.1 per cent on one side and 5.1 per cent on the other, which gives it a roller coaster-like appearance.

The concrete road bridge spans a mile across Lake Nakaumi, linking the cities of Matsue and Sakaiminato. Although from certain angles the incline looks incredibly steep and dangerous, in reality the drive itself is not that intimidating. But it does offer spectacular views from the top!
