A family in Guadalajara, Mexico was out on a nature excursion to watch the deer during rutting season when they saw one male deer in trouble. The deer had fallen into a deep well and was trapped up to its neck in water. The deer couldn’t get out due to the steep embankment and was exhausted from its struggle.
The young son cleverly loops a piece of string around the deer’s antler to be able to grab hold of it and then gets some help from his dad pulling the large animal out. The deer frantically kicks its legs in panic, which makes pulling him out all the more challenging.
They finally manage to heave him over the edge but his rear legs are still dangling over the ledge. When the deer doesn’t move they figure he needs to be pulled out fully. After a brief moment the deer gets up but staggers and falls. But seconds later the deer gets up again and runs away, his rescuers watching in relief.
The family said of their good deed, “We did not hesitate at any time to help him and get him out, it was an unforgettable day.”
