This is an amazing true story of heroism. Joel and John Reichlitz are brothers and veteran firefighters in Milwaukee.
They were enjoying a beer on their day off when John got a call from his wife. She said, “John. Car on fire. People Trapped. Hurry.”
The two men raced to the scene and found an SUV on fire. A mother and her two young children were trapped inside.
The two firefighters ran to the burning vehicle to try and save the family.
But getting one child named DJ to safety proved difficult.
He was stuck in his car seat and his seatbelt would not release. Joel and John recount in their own words what happened next.
DJ suffered burns to his back and head, but he would not be alive if it had not been for Joel and John. DJ calls them “Uncle Joel” and “Uncle John” now.
Firefighters save lives every day. This is a great reminder to thank your local firefighters for what they do!
