Hula dancing is often conjures images of women with long grass skirts dancing gracefully to slow, quiet music. But Hawaiian hula has much more to it than this popular view, as these men are about to demonstrate.
The male dancers of Ke Kai O Kahiki perform an energetic, athletic hula that gets the audience cheering loudly (especially the women in the crowd).
The dancers go through years of preparation and training to build up the endurance and skill needed. The group are performing at the Merrie Monarch, an annual competition of hālau hula. (They won this particular year.)
Share their incredible hula with your family and friends.
