Cleaning grout off of tiles is one of those awful, gross chores that we all have to tackle at one time or another. It can also be really hard to clean. That’s why I appreciate the tips that Clean My Space shares for cleaning that grimy grout.
What you’ll need:
- spray bottle with water
- cleaning toothbrush
- cotton cloth
- baking soda
- optional: lemon
The reason grout gets dirty is that it wasn’t sealed properly or never sealed in the first place. And because it’s porous, it absorbs dirt.
The cleaning technique is very simple. Rub a water/baking soda mix over the grout and leave it for around 15 minutes. Then, spray the mixture with some water to make it easier to scrub off using the cleaning toothbrush. Once scrubbed, clean it away with a cotton cloth. That’s all there is to it.
You can watch the detailed instructions in the video below.
And here’s a quick and handy tip for keeping your bathroom tiles clear of grout once you’ve cleaned them and if you don’t have any grout sealer handy.
