This simple recipe is great to do with the kids, and lets you pump out massive amounts of custom gummies, that are snack-able, and stackable, just like LEGO!
Grant Thompson, the King of Random, shows how to make the yummy recipe for the gummy candies.
For making them you’ll need:
– 1/2 cup cold water
– 1/4 cup corn syrup
– 2 packets of unflavored gelatin
– 1 pack of Jell-O
– silicone molds
First mix 1/2 cup of very cold water and 1/4 cup of corn syrup together. Give the mixture time for the corn syrup to dissolve. This is aided by very cold water. Then put it in a pot on the stovetop, but don’t turn on the heat just yet.
Add the 2 packets of gelatin and and the packet of Jell-O. Stir it slowly so it’s all mixed together (around 5 minutes). Then turn on the heat.
The corn syrup is added to help smooth out the texture and the taste. To add a sour taste to the gummies, Thompson suggests adding citric acid or vitamin C. If you prefer not to eat gelatin, Thompson suggests replacing it with pectin.
Once you’ve done making the mixture, pour it into a silicone mold. You can either make the molds or buy them. The silicone molds appear to be available online or at most department stores.
These look like pretty awesome treats!
