A mail carrier makes one dog’s day with an adorable routine that’s touching the hearts of dog lovers around the globe. Every morning on his rounds, Jason the mailman stops to give Piper the dog some pets. The catch? He does it through the mail slot. When Jason arrives, Piper runs to the front door, as if she’s telling her mom, DJ Perelman, “Mother, the door hands are here!”
Piper goes up to the mail slot, where Jason’s hands appear to give her pets and scritches that she leans right into. Piper eagerly looks forward to these morning visits and gets a little down if he doesn’t come by—like on Sundays, Jason’s day off.

Jason’s hands and door hand scratches reminded a lot of viewers of The Thing from the Addams Family, the animated “living hand” who is a character in the movies and tv shows. Several other viewers thought the mail slot has a new purpose for them.
