A tiny starving dog found tied up at a bus stop is on the mend thanks to a man running late for work.
Stray Rescue of St. Louis shared pictures and news of the dog they named “She-Ra” for her fighting spirit on their Facebook page.
“This tiny, near lifeless dog, caked in urine was found tied up to a bus stop. A gentleman was running late for work and missed the bus. But he saw this dog. She couldn’t stand or walk, she was so thin and had no muscle. He was completely shocked,”
But even though the man was stunned by the dog’s condition, he immediately acted.
Stray Rescue continued, “He jumped into action, untied her, and carried her all the way home. He ran inside and called us because he didn’t know what to do. All he knew was he had to get this tiny angel help.”
“We went to get her immediately,” the rescuers added.
After She-Ra arrived at the shelter they “warmed her body and gave her a couple bites of food that she gobbled up.”
It’s dreadful to see how emaciated she is and how much she must have suffered. But Stray Rescue made her a promise.
“We live amongst monsters, but She-Ra will never meet one again,” they wrote on their Facebook page. “You are safe, little baby.” They added, “We love her so much.”
She-Ra has gotten outside to enjoy the sunshine and cuddles with Donna Lochmann, chief life saving officer at Stray Rescue of St. Louis.
She’s also got her own “chariot” to take in the sights. Stray Rescue provided an update on her progress saying She-Ra is “eating good, she’s clean, and she’s lifting her front body on her own. Nothing will keep her down.”

Pupdate:
It’s been a few days since She-Ra arrived at the shelter but she’s taken a giant step forward – she’s walking! Love wins.
