A dog abandoned on a Denver street in broad daylight found a new home with the man who witnessed the heartbreaking moment on his surveillance camera. Rane Jaresh was in the process of moving when neighbors mentioned a dog running loose in the neighborhood. Curious, Rane checked his security footage and saw a car stop, open its back door, and push the dog out before driving away.
Determined to help, Rane went looking for the dog. The dog was hesitant when Rane approached so he returned with water and treats. After contacting animal control, Rane made the decision to adopt the dog himself. Sadly, the license plate on the car wasn’t visible in the footage, and the dog didn’t have a microchip. Rane named the dog Emery.
Emery joins Rane and his other dog Bear, who is also an Australian mix who was abandoned and adopted by Rane. The two dogs quickly bonded, running around and playing together. Rane is happy that Bear now has an adventure buddy. Reflecting on the rescue, Rane said, “It’s a pretty disgusting video to watch… he’s in much better hands than before.”
