The most common animal referred to as a thief is a raccoon because its black “mask” makes it look like a burglar. But they also really do like to steal food if given a chance.
These two raccoons are trying to break out of the enclosure and open the door, but even though they jump in unison the latch remains out of reach.

“…They are not smart but they are cute,” one person commented.
Another viewer noted, “If they realized they could collaborate…”
“‘A’ for effort,” said another viewer.
What the two raccoons are doing is quite similar to what Valery Berestennikov calls “bear pitching.” Valery runs a raccoon petting zoo. The raccoons at her zoo are tame and, according to her, enjoy interacting with people.
“Jumping by the wall is normal behaviour, and every raccoon performs this activity,” she explains. “This activity is called ‘Bear’s pitching’ and is thought to be the way to minimise the level of stress and lessen excess energy.”
Valery shared a video of the raccoons “bear’s pitching” and it certainly does resemble what the raccoons trying to open the door are doing.
