Have you ever wanted a variety of sounds for your car horn instead of just the one? Inventor and former NASA engineer Mark Rober did and so he modified his car horn to have three new sounds.
Rober thinks that the one-tone-only car horns need to change so that they can be more courteous given the different situations a driver encounters. Watch as he explains and demonstrates the three new sounds he added to his car – two nicer sounding “courtesy honks” and a “power horn” for extreme situations.
Says Rober, “I customized my car horn to play three different sounds. The main sound is the ‘Courtesy Honk’ which is used to get the attention of other drivers in a non-emergency scenario. It’s two quick chirps of the horn that is not only friendly sounding, but it’s not as loud as a normal car horn.”
I’m hoping car manufacturers take note as I’d love these in my car. Share this interesting car modification with your friends and family.
