Sir Patrick Stewart took a break from promoting his latest movie, Logan, to promote dog adoption. In fact, he is fostering a dog with his wife, in this case their first rescued Pit Bull.
It appears that the renowned actor, known for his role as Captain Picard in Star Trek and Charles Xavier in the X-Men movie franchise, has a soft spot for dogs. In a video he released on Twitter, Stewart meets Ginger, the first Pit Bull he and his wife will be fostering. He captioned the video “Thanks to @ASPCA and @WagsandWalks Sunny and I are finally fostering our 1st pitbull! Meet Ginger. I’m in LOVE. #AdoptDontShop”
Ginger is all smiles as she’s greeted at the door and even gives the actor kisses when he leans down to greet her. “Thank you for that. That was a very nice greeting,” he tells Ginger, petting her.

The actor later updated everyone on how Ginger is doing, writing, “Our foster doggie Ginger is sleeping and snoring on our couch and I can honestly think of no greater compliment.”

A day later? Ginger has made herself right at home. What followed were many heartwarming moments.
He and his wife, Sunny, found Ginger a wonderful home. Sadly, they couldn’t adopt Ginger themselves due to the Pit Bull ban in the UK. But they found her the perfect home.
Since Ginger, he’s continued to foster more Pit Bulls with Wags and Walks. How wonderful is that?
Had a busy day today at @WagsandWalks. They’ve saved the lives of 10,000 dogs since their founding, and I’m personally grateful for all the foster dog love they’ve brought to my life. Join me in supporting them and your local shelter this #DogDay. https://t.co/n2wDd6jqgx pic.twitter.com/pSGCtPmjtM
