When Dax the Pit Bull refuses to eat his food, his dad will give him a whole dinner and show to convince him to eat. Tiktokker @daxcosmo shared a delightful video of Dax’s gourmet demands captioning the video, “When my dog refuses to eat his food I pretend to put stuff in it.”
In the clip, Dax has a bowl of kibble in front of him but is not interested in eating it. So dad picks it up and opens a drawer filled with spices and pretends to sprinkle the kibble with seasoning. But he’s not done yet.

Next up, Dax’s bowl is put in the fridge for a few seconds to let the “seasoning” soak in. After that, the gourmet meal is served. This time Dax enthusiastically digs into his bowl. Dad writes, “It’s a whole performance every time.”
Viewers applauded @daxcosmo show but also his cleverness.
One viewer wrote, “I actually put stuff in my dogs food and you’re telling me I could be doing this? Genius.”
@daxcosmo responded, “Yeah, all you have to do is pretend and it tricks them into eating.” He later told the viewer to tell him how it goes.
There are many dogs who are picky eaters. Dunkin likes his kibble microwaved and another picky dog wants her food “cooked.” Badger insists on something simpler, and only eats after getting a kiss on the forehead.
Dax’s demands may be more theatrical, but it’s obvious his dad doesn’t mind performing the routine as long as it means Dax eats.
