A rare white moose has captured the world’s attention after he was spotted taking a dip in a pond in Sweden. The moose, that is completely white, was filmed drinking and wading through the water by Hans Nilsson in the Värmland region in the south west part of the Scandinavian country.
The nature lover was transfixed by the moose, telling Sweden’s Sveriges Radio the experience was “as great as seeing a leopard in Africa.” As for the moose, he appears to notice Nilsson, and at one point peers right over at him. But he seems more interested in eating the leaves of the bushes.
The moose is not albino, but rather piebald, which is caused by a recessive gene that brings bright white fur to the forefront.
Not only is the moose’s color rare, Nilsson told local reporters there were only 50 white moose in the area where the video was captured.
Take a look at the beautiful moose in the video below and be sure to share it with your friends and family!
