When Bernie the baby cow met Sri Ram the puppy, it was love at first sight. The two rescued animals met at Juliana’s Animal Sanctuary in Colombia and became fast friends.
Juliana Castañeda Turner, founder of the sanctuary, first rescued Sri Ram when she stumbled across some puppies and realizing they needed a better life than they were getting. She found homes for all of them except for Sri Ram, who remained at the sanctuary.
As for Bernie, his owners did not want him because he was a male calf. But when they realized he would likely be slaughtered, they ended up dropping him off at a local shelter, which reached out to Juliana.
The moment Bernie and Sri Ram met each other they hit it off and now they play all day and love to cuddle and nap with one another. Juliana says both animals think they’re big dogs and don’t see they are different animals. The two will spend the rest of their lives together at her sanctuary.
