Many traffic accidents occur when cars try to overtake semi-trailer trucks and the primary reason is because of poor visibility. But Samsung has come up with an innovative technology to help cars driving behind trucks know when it’s safe to pass.
They attached giant screens to the back of their trucks and wireless cameras in the front so that drivers can see the road ahead before trying to pass. There’s even a night-vision mode for driving in the dark.
The trucks are prototypes and were tested in Argentina, but there aren’t any currently “road worthy” although Samsung says they are working with governments to figure out if they can be used on the roads while maintaining road safety. What do you think? Are these “safety trucks” a good idea?
