Every Friday the students at Deep Roots Charter school in Philadelphia has “Fun Friday.” But a few weeks ago, the students got a real treat when 8-year-old Ahmad and his 2nd grade teacher Regina Laurie had a Veggie Dance throw down. Video of their dance off went viral across the globe, and brought smiles to over 25 million views.
It all began when Mrs. Laurie decided to teach her student a lesson. “He kept telling me, ‘Oh, Mrs. Laurie, you’re old. Look at your (gray) hair.’ So I said to myself, ‘I’m going to challenge this boy to a dance-off. I’m going to dance rings around this boy and he doesn’t even know it yet!'”

Ahmad was so surprised! It turns out that Mrs. Laurie, who has taught at the school for 20 years, knows how to dance and actually has her Bachelors in Dance! 6ABC tracked the pair down and interviewed them to find out how they won the hearts of the internet.
