Tiny Stray Pit Bull Is ‘One Big Blister’ Before Rescue, Makes Amazing Recovery

“Penny is a testament to the resiliency of shelter dogs,” The Animal Foundation says of the tiny pittie they rescued a few months ago. Penny was found on the streets of North Las Vegas, Nevada, and was “in itchy agony from a severe case of mange.” But the poor one-year-old young dog was about to get a lifeline.

When Jeramy saw Penny’s face on a TV newscast, he immediately fell in love and wanted to help her. He made a donation right away and began following his recovery. In fact, Jeramy and his wife Mary went further and decided to foster Penny. Mary says it was heartbreaking to see Penny in so much pain. She didn’t have any fur at all and “was one big blister.”

With love, patience and care from the veterinary team at The Animal Foundation and her foster family, Penny made an incredible recovery. And within two months, Jeramy and Mary decided to make Penny a permanent family member.

Jeramy says of Penny that “everybody falls in love with her” and his kids say she’s “really sweet and kind.” The “40 pound tater tot” has made a full recovery and is thriving in her forever home.
