Krista was traveling through Bolivia with friends when a dog began chasing their van. He followed them for several blocks until Krista insisted they stop and not leave him behind. That fateful decision brought her soul dog, Chase, into her life. Chase was overjoyed when they picked him up, and although they didn’t really have room for him in the van, he traveled with them for several weeks.
His calm demeanor quickly won over everyone, as he asked for nothing but love and affection. Krista decided to bring Chase home with her to the United States, but she knew it would take time. She found a foster home for him and visited him a few times until he could finally fly home with her. Since then, she says, “Every day, I just fall more and more in love with him.”
Now, Krista travels with Chase around North America in a camper van, and he’s the perfect companion. Every morning, he gives a cute little howl to greet the day, as if to say, “Thank you so much for choosing me.”
On Krista’s side she says, “It’s been exactly one year since I traveled back to Bolivia to pick up this sweet angel. I can’t believe how fast the time has passed. We have crossed the United States twice, visiting the Mojave desert, the Grand Canyon, the mountains of Tennessee, and the forests of Canada.”
